A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT Greetings esteemed guests, partners, and supporters, As we gather tonight for our 44th Annual Benefit Gala, themed “Empowering Youth: Mento- ring Global Citizens,” I am filled with immense gratitude for each and every one of you who has contributed to the success of this evening. Your generosity, dedication, and unwavering support are the driving forces behind our ability to impact our communities and empower the next generation of leaders. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our corporate partners and guests whose generosity has made tonight’s event possible. Your commitment to our mission is truly commendable, and your dollars enable us to implement impactful programs that uplift and empower our youth. A special acknowledgment is due to our Gala Committee Co-Chairs, Past President Fitz- gerald Miller and Jonnel Doris, as well as the dedicated Committee members—Michael Atherley, Robert Brown, Frederick Davis Jr., Solomon Greene, Brian Jones, Tyrone McKin- ney, Dwight McLeod, and Kenneth Williams. Your tireless efforts and leadership have been instrumental in bringing tonight’s gala to fruition. Tonight, we have the privilege of honoring four remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions to our community and beyond: Robert C. Garrett, Marvin Krislov, Melanie Littlejohn, and Melonie Parker. Their dedication to excellence and service exempli- fies the spirit of leadership and mentorship that we strive to instill in our youth. Additionally, we proudly recognize our own members, Amaziah “Bill” Howell, with the Mentor of the Year Award for their outstanding commitment to guiding and inspiring others. This evening is also a celebration of the countless scholars who have participated in our youth programs throughout the year. They are the bright lights of our future, and it is our privilege to support and nurture their growth and development. As I reflect on my tenure as president of this esteemed organization, I am filled with grati- tude for the incredible team of staff, board members, and volunteers who have supported me every step of the way. Your dedication and passion have been the driving force behind our success, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside you. To my beloved Ednesha Saulsbury, thank you for your unwavering support and understand- ing over the past four years. Your love and encouragement have been my guiding light, and I am forever grateful for your presence in my life. As we look ahead to the future, let us remember the importance of civic engagement and participation.
